Kelli: We have stayed at Nautical Knoll 2-years in a row and plan to make it a yearly rental now!!
First I would like to start by saying Linda is one of the best owners by far that we have ever rented from in the Outer banks!! The house is the cleanest we have rented. It is completely stocked with everything you will need for your stay. Something super important to me when renting is the beds. Every bed in every room is so comfortable. We completely feel comfortable when we are here. It's like being home. They have toys and movies for the kids. Everything you will need for the beach in the storage room downstairs. The buggy is absolutely the best thing ever and we use it daily. The decks are perfect and have plenty of sitting room. It's super close to the beach and that's key when you have smaller kids. My girls are 5 and 9 and it's such a blessing to be so close so when we have to take those trips back home real quick it's right around the corner. Another added bonus is that food lion is right across the street and also Kmart is also walking distance. I would say we were lucky to find this gem!! I would say that this is defiantly our home away from home and can't wait to come back summer 2018. - February 8, 2018

The weather was amazing!!! 4-5 straight days of sunny, hot weather. Thus, we spent most of our days at the beach. We loved the short walk to the beach. Our 3 children loved it here and can’t wait to come back! Thanks again! The bubbles for the girls was a nice touch. - June 17, 2017

We originally had a rainy forecast all week but it changed and we could not have asked for better weather. Michael, now 21 months, loved playing with the train set. He woke up at 6 a.m. asking for the choo-choo. Isabelle loved the gift basket – especially the pail and the notepad. Thanks again for opening your home to us. Nautical Knoll was absolutely perfect for our families beach trip! They had everything you'd need for a week long stay organized and easily accessible. It was nice not having to pack all of those extras for cooking, beach visits and entertainment. (So much that we rarely ate out, other than a few dinners). Three adults, two teens and one preteen lived in this rental very comfortably. My youngest often has issues with change, rarely enjoying a stay away from home. The first night, she commented she was ready to go home. I immediately went into how we would be here for a week , etc. She quickly cut in and said, "No, OUR BEACH HOME!" That's how inviting and secure this rental made us all feel. So many cool beach trinkets throughout the house to spark discussions. We enjoyed the walk to and from the beach as a group. Sometimes I'd drive the crew down, drop them off and jog back myself if there was no parking space. They have a wonderful neighbor that never seemed annoyed by all of our questions . He had great "best day and times" advice always. He actually saved me when I had left a very expensive diamond stud at the rental. All in all, we couldn't have asked for a more welcoming, (speaking of...the owners left a welcome bucket with not only potential essentials most forget..but nice little gifts for our kids to enjoy), clean, organized and perfect "access to everything" rental. The Nautical Knoll was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked. We were glad for the Beach cart and the big selection of beach gear. Lots of games and movies. The master bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed all of the nautical decorations it was perfect for the beach house. Quiet and friendly neighborhood. We loved the 4x4 beach in Corolla. Seeing the wild horses on the beach was the highlight of our trip. The food at Miller’s Waterfront and Basnight’s Lone Cedar was very good.
Linda answered all of our questions and phone calls in a short amount of time. Very nice and friendly to deal with. Our deposit was refunded promptly. Can't wait to come back next year. We couldn’t have found a better rental home. - September 1, 2016 -

Nautical Knoll was the PERFECT place for our family of 5 to enjoy our first OBX vacation. The 3 bedrooms gave us plenty of space and it's always a bonus not to share a bathroom with 3 teenage boys! Linda and Larry have equipped the house with everything you could possibly need for the beach and everyday living. We cooked at home most nights and used both the charcoal and gas grills to cook amazing local seafood. The walk to the beach was minimal and so easy with the beach cart that was provided. I had quite a few questions during the week and Linda answered all of my messages within minutes. She checked to see that we made it safely, arrived at home safely, and returned our security deposit within a week of our departure. A+ service from A+ people. Nautical Knoll is definitely a winner due to the care taken by its owners to provide a great OBX experience! - August 29, 2016 -

The property is awesome. This house has a loaded kitchen with everything. Well equipped for children including infants and toddlers. Pack and play, booster seats and plenty of toys for the house and the beach. (we didn't actually use the toys at the beach we brought our own, next time we can leave ours at home and have a little extra room in the car). Easy walking distance to the beach and easy 2 min drive to grocery store. Equipped with a gas grill and a great deck and outdoor shower to wash off from a day at the beach. Linda (the owner) is also very quick to respond to any questions. our kids were even surprised with a goody basket provided by the owner (very thoughtful touch). This was our first trip to the outer banks so we had so many questions and concerns from where to stay, eat, places to see...etc. Linda is very sweet and and answered every question We had in no time at all helping us to make the decision to book here even easier. We have 3 young children (two of them two year old twins) and all 5 of us enjoyed our stay here! We arrived to a lovely welcome basket with little gifts for our three children and a couple of items we may have forgot to bring( which we DID of course, haha) and I thought this was very kind and thoughtful. Loved the swings, outdoor shower, toys and covered sand area so much! We had lovely weather so we were out and about a lot exploring, so we didn't really cook or spend much time indoors, but I can see where if you wanted to stay in or had to you would still have a great time with friends and family as there are tons of board games and anything else you may need. The littles are still asking to "go to miss Linda's house!" Haha we found the house spacious and clean and there's a friendly local neighbor who is also very sweet and comforting to know is around. A short walk to the beach for sunrises and ghost crabbing is so fun! If we ever stay in Kill Devil Hills again we would absolutely go here again!

What a charming and spacious home with everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable . With in a short walk to the beach to a short drive to many stores and restaurants. Owners are extremely nice and helpful to what ever questions or problems you may have. Our family had a wonderful time and we can't wait to go back . You will be sad to leave !!!!!

So we are from PA and I was looking at one bedroom apartments at the Jersey shore for the same price as Nautical Knoll. I thought, how can we go wrong? The week was bought and paid for and 2 weeks before our trip, our oldest son died. We decided to take the trip anyway. We weren't ready to work yet and the beach is a good place to find some peace. We hauled our sorry selves down to NC and found not a vacation rental, but a home, a real home, with books and movies and board games and beach gear and knick knacks and art on the walls and every other little thing we could have hoped for. The description and pictures of this beach house is exactly what we arrived to. It is walking distance to the public beach access with a beach cart provided to haul all beach necessities. The house is very clean and anything you could possibly need is provided. The kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, toys and games. My family and I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend The Nautical Knoll. We hope to return in the near future!
This is a great place to stay in KDH. It is close to the ocean-side beach, While there is a pass for parking at the breach, it might be more hassle than simply walking. There are all the beach gear you need, and a wagon for toting the gear. The house is furnished with pretty much anything you will need. There are plenty of games and [puzzles for those down times at the house. The home is clean and comfortable, with WiFi and cable. Recommended, and next time I'm in KDH, , this is where I will be found.

This was my 4th year in a row renting this house. Linda continues to be wonderful to work with....This house is neat and clean and has everything you would want or need. from dishes to extra bedding, to beach carts and sand toys, chairs and umbrellas. Our overall impression was very good. The only thing I noticed is there are many nic nacs and if there are small children things could get broken. We also noticed that there was an over abundance of dishes, pots and pans, silverware and utensils. The cabinets and drawers were crowded and full. We were thinking that maybe people just leave stuff there and it doesn't get thrown out. On the bright side though you could find just about anything you needed. Those that did most of the food prep noticed that there were very few sharp knives. If we have the same amount of people next vacation we will consider this home. The owners were exceptional from the start. Very professional and always delivered a speedy response to any questions/concerns we had. The rental had everything we needed and more. This was my first family vacation with a baby,so, I was concerned about not having everything I needed and over packed. The rental had everything we needed from toys, cookware, endless amounts of pillows and blankets, etc. I could have brought personal items, and felt right at home.It was extremely clean and well-maintained. Location was wonderful. We were extremely close to the ocean, although a parking pass for the beach was provided, we walked, because it wasn't far at all! Restaurants and shops were seconds away. Our first Outer banks trip was a success, we felt a week wasn't long enough, and hope to make it back soon! This was a nice place to enjoy being close to the beach that had all the comforts of home. Everything was as described in the listing and the owners even had a small welcome package waiting for us. The house is only 2 streets from the beach on a quiet street. The Avalon Pier is also within walking distance. We would definitely stay there again. Many restaurants and shopping close by. We tried the Black Pelican restaurant which is about 2 miles away. Great place to eat if you like fresh seafood and the atmosphere there was very nice. Can't wait to go back. - August 14, 2014 -

Close to the beach, close to many places to eat, and shop. We love the upper deck, and the outside shower. Oh, and the grill.

The residence was well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped with any gadget, pots and pans, plates, and cups that you could imagine. Location is convenient to nearby beaches, restaurants, movies, locations attractions. Nice to have the beach chairs, grill, beach umbrella and floats for our use. The cottage was as amazing and came just as advertised. It was perfect for my family of 5, and it could have easily fit 2 more. The cottage is only 3.5 blocks from public beach access, and it had everything we could ever need.
